Key Financial Controller climbs Mount Kilimanjaro
Key's, Brigid Rodgers, completed her climb of Mount Kilimanjaro last month along with five of her friends.

Brigid signed up to the climb back in 2019 with one friend raising over £2,000 for charity. After spending eight days on Kilimanjaro, the group reached the summit on day seven with five other women in the party and support staff of 40 porters.
I go to a boot camp class at our local park and one of my friends suggested we climb Kilimanjaro which I thought was insane, two months later she had worn us down and six of us had signed up! We’re reasonably fit but all attempted some long 15-mile plus walks to build up our stamina. Some decided to raise money for charity, with one friend raising over £2,000 for Alzheimer's research. On the day that we reached the summit, we set off at midnight in a howling gale when the temperature was -15°C with wind chill. I reached the top at sunrise, which was an amazing and unforgettable sight. It's definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done but I’m so glad I took on the challenge. I have some fantastic memories and a huge amount of pride in our achievement and it’s something to tell the grandchildren!
