Headquarters Lowton

Lowton Infrastructure Group (LIG, formally Commhoist) is a leading provider of end-to-end managed logistics services, primarily focusing on the new build, upgrade, decommissioning and maintenance of mobile telecommunications infrastructure. The company has a strong reputation in the telecoms sector with a particular specialism in complex installations including both remote or difficult to access areas.

With their in-depth knowledge of the telecoms sector, Key very quickly gained an understanding of our business and the opportunity that is ahead of us over the coming years. This experience and support provided to the board will improve the quality of the business, help drive growth and add significant value to all shareholders.

Working with LIG...

Investment process

We invested £5 million to fund a partial equity release to the founders alongside an investment into the business to support future growth. LIG is extremely well placed given its unrivalled expertise in the market, strong and growing customer base and the investment required to rollout 5G throughout the UK and also upgrade the current 4G rural network to grow significantly over the next few years.

Growth process

Our support has enabled the business to focus on platform improvement, including the internal systems, processes and people. This manifested in a HQ move to facilitate growth, investment in a new finance package and also a workflow management system to track and manage project performance. We sourced and appointed an experienced Finance Director and a highly credible CEO to supplement the board, as well as promoting a strong internal candidate to Operations Director. Additionally, our focus has been on expanding the service offering into adjacent markets including electric vehicle charging infrastructure and alternative energy applications to reduce over reliance on one sector.
