James Excell who joined private equity house, Key, in 2016, has been promoted to Partner.
Based at the firm’s London office, James works alongside Partners Mike Fell and Philip Duquenoy to source investment opportunities in profitable, dynamic SMEs across the UK. Since joining KCP five years ago, James has worked on several transactions including the management buy-out of CMOStores.com, where he sits on the board alongside Mike Fell.
With 13 years’ experience within the sector, James has held positions with FTI Consulting where he worked in the corporate finance and restructuring practice and Grant Thornton in their London debt advisory business.
Working with Key Capital Partners has given me the opportunity to support the growth plans of ambitious SME’s and I’m looking forward to continuing working with the Key team to help more entrepreneurs achieve their business goals.
Key Managing Partner James Hall said: “We welcome James to the partnership team at Key. Since joining Key in 2016, James’s contribution to the business has been fantastic across all areas, from deal sourcing to execution and portfolio management. A well-deserved promotion.”
Key is a leading investor in the smaller buy-out market, making equity investments of between £3m and £15m in profitable growing companies and has a strong reputation for deliverability as well as a track record of producing outstanding returns for its investors.
